Named to the All-Big 12 Freshman team...appeared in 42 games...started 26 (18-DH, 5-LF, 3-RF)... hit .289 (28-for-97) for the season with two doubles, three triples, seven RBI, and 18 runs scored...stole three bases on five attempts...drove in the tying run in the eighth inning on an RBI triple at TCU on April 24...hit .303 (10-for-33) during conference play...drove in a career high two RBI at Baylor on April 22.

Played for coach Jim Long at Brenham High School, earning three letters ... helped lead BHS to the 4A State Championship and was an All-Greater Houston selection as a junior (2010) when he batted .549 with 19 doubles, 10 home runs and 28 stolen bases ... voted the District 18-4A Most Valuable Player and All-Brazos Valley MVP in addition to being named an All-American by Baseball America and Louisville Slugger following the 2010 season ... hit .423 with four home runs, 43 runs and 36 RBI as a senior (2011), garnering first team All-District 18-4A honors ... finished his prep career with a career average of .461, 46 doubles and 135 RBI ... graduated with honors ... played summer ball with the Brazos Valley Renegades, helping them win the AAU National Championship in 2010.
