AT KLEIN HIGH SCHOOL: Played at Klein High School in Spring, Texas, for Barry Smith... helped lead KHS to back-to-back state tournament appearances... selected as the 2010 District 13-5A Newcomer of the Year... also selected as a TSWA honorable-mention All-State catcher... voted to the Class 5A All-State Tournament Team as both a junior and senior... during the 2010 campaign, maintained a blistering .435 batting average while collecting 21 extra base hits, including 19 doubles... named first team all-district and second team all-state after connecting on 13 home runs as a senior (2011)... also played football, lettering three years as a linebacker.
