2013 (SOPHOMORE): Made two relief appearances as a sophomore … Went 0-0 on the season allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one in 1.0 innings of work … Appeared in 18 games for the Woodland Strykers of the Texas Collegiate League, posting a 2-1 record with eight saves and a 3.78 ERA in 33.1 innings of work … Scattered 33 hits and 19 walks while fanning 43 during the summer season.

2012 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 10 games in his freshman campaign, making four starts... did not earn a decision on the season, but posted a 3.86 ERA, allowing 19 hits and 15 walks while striking out 15 over 21.0 innings... made his collegiate debut against Illinois-Chicago (2/18) retiring all three batters he faced, including two strikeouts... pitched a shutout inning with one strikeout in a 9-8 win against Michigan State (3/4)... made first career start against Houston Baptist (3/27), yielding one run on four hits and two walks while striking out one over 4.1 innings... allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out three in 4.0 inning start against UTSA (4/3)... played for the San Luis Obispo Blues of the California Collegiate League... appeared in eight games, posting a 5-1 record with a 3.46 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 39.0 innings for the Blues... named to the All-CCL Third Team... was tabbed the No. 2 prospect in the California Collegiate League by Baseball America and Perfect Game.

AT LUFKIN HIGH SCHOOL: Enjoyed a standout career at Lufkin High School for Clay Berry, helping LHS reach the state championship game in 2009... honored as a Louisville Slugger All-American and a first team all-state selection as a senior (2011) when he finished 14-1 with a 1.70 ERA... garnered second team all-district honors as a junior (2010) following a 4-2 record that featured a 2.83 ERA and 32 strikeouts... played summer ball with the Brazos Valley Renegades... chosen by the Houston Astros in the 14th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
