Played for coach Larry Hughes at Carroll High School (Southlake, Texas) ... earned first-team all-state honors as a senior (2008) in leading the Dragons to a state runner-up finish ... played just one season of varsity baseball and did not pitch until his senior year, after a broken leg prior to the season rendered him unable to play in the infield ... went 14-0 on the hill with a sparkling 1.60 ERA ... in 107 innings of work struck out 156 batters to lead the Dallas/Fort Worth area ... compiled a 6-0 record and a 1.20 ERA in the playoffs ... a member of the North Texas all-star team ... also earned a letter in basketball as a forward and in football as a wide receiver, where the Dragons won the Texas 5A state title and the national championship ... played summer baseball for the Arlington A's ... a success in the classroom as well, graduated 11th in his class of over 600 with summa cum laude distinction, and earned a prestigious President's Endowed Scholarship to A&M.
Thomas Ross Stripling is the son of Hayes and Tammy Stripling of Southlake ... born Nov. 23, 1989, in Blue Bell, Penn. ... majoring in business finance ... has an older brother, Hayes (A&M Class of '09) ... father and uncle attended A&M, as did his grandfather, who was an Aggie yell leader ... enjoys movies, traveling, playing any sport, and hanging out at his family's lakehouse in his spare time ... career goal is to earn a master's degree from Texas A&M.
