 Troy Kema

Troy is in his ninth year at Texas A&M where he is Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services. His primary duty is overseeing academic services for the football team.

Kema joined the Center for Student Athlete Services with 14 years of previous experience. He was the Academic Advisor at Utah State University for the football, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, and men's golf programs, before becoming the Academic Coordinator for the football and men's and women's tennis teams at the University of Colorado. Kema also worked for over five years as a corrections officer for the state of Utah.

A 1998 graduate of Utah State University with a bachelor's degree in sociology, Kema also earned his master's degree in educational counseling from the University of Phoenix (Ogden, Utah) in 2001 while working full-time.

He lettered twice in football at Utah State as a two-year starter at offensive guard, and was a team captain his senior year along with earning All Big-West First-team All-Academic honors.

Before earning a scholarship to play at Utah State, Kema played at Dixie Junior College, earning First-Team All-Western States as an offensive guard.

Kema was born in Honolulu, Hawai'i and moved to Los Angeles as a teenager, where he was a member of the football and track teams at Cerritos High School.

Troy is married to the former Stephanie Gillette and they have four lovely children, Kailee (17), Noah (15), Malia (14) and Isaiah (9). He is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics.
