 Dan Childs

Dan Childs enters his sixth year as Scholastic Supervisor for the Aggie football program in 2014-15. 

Childs brings great experience to the Texas A&M Center for Student Athlete Services. Prior to A&M, Dan spent seven years as the Academic Advisor for the University of Kentucky volleyball, rifle, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, and men's and women's track and field programs. He also gained experience as an academic graduate assistant for the men’s basketball and baseball programs at the University of Kentucky.

A 1997 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Dan also earned his master's degree in sports administration from Xavier University in 2000. Childs is currently pursuing a PhD in Higher Education Administration at Texas A&M University, and he is a member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics. 

The Lexington, Kentucky, native competed in both football and track and field during his collegiate career, lettering in both sports. Dan is married to the former Lynette Smith. Dan and Lynette have a daughter, Avery.
