SOUTHPORT, N.C. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team sits in a tie for sixth place with a two-round score of 665 (+89) at The Spider at St. James. Boston College leads the 12-team tournament with a 36-hole total of 640 (+64). Teams plated two rounds on Saturday and will play the third and final round on Sunday morning.
Headlining the Spiders effort on the first day of the tournament was sophomore Lauren Conder. After carding rounds of 81-77, Conder sits in fifth place - just four strokes behind the leader - with a 36-hole score of 158 (+14).
Classmates Caroline Lovette and Courtney Rousse are tied for 26th after the first day of competition, carding totals of 167 (+23). Lovette fired rounds of 82-85, while Rousse scored the opposite, 85-82.
Playing as individuals, two Spider golfers got off to great starts at The Spider at St. James. Sophomore Viviana Perez is tied for 12th with a score of 162 (+18), while classmate Danielle Pinder is tied for 23rd after carding a 36-hole total of 166 (+22).
The Richmond Spiders women's golf team will conclude play at The Spider at St. James on Sunday afternoon. Results will be posted on RichmondSpiders.com as soon as they become available.
