James Fahy Qualifies For Canadian Amateur Championship

PITT MEADOWS, British Columbia - Gonzaga University men's golfer James Fahy tied for 12th at the 110th British Columbia (BC) Championship, held at Swan-e-set Bay Resort and Country Club in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. With his finish and score, Fahy, a sophomore-to-be who hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, qualified for the Canadian Amateur Championship.

Fahy finished the BC Championship with a 54-hole score of 296 (71-76-76-73). Riley Fleming, of Airdrie, Alberta, won the event with a score of 280 (69-71-71-71).

This is the second-straight year Fahy will participate in the Canadian Amateur Championship. He tied for 56th out of 243 participants at the 2011 Championship with four-day, 54-hole score of 296 (75-70-76-75).

The 2012 Canadian Amateur Championship will be held Aug. 7-10 at the Camelot Golf and Country Club and Club de golf Outaouais in Cumberland, Ontario.
