Cedar Falls, Ia.- The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team were defeated tonight in their last home meet this season by the Iowa Hawkeyes, 127-114.
Swimming in the last home meet of her collegiate career, Chelsea Hartman took the top spot in the 1000 freestyle and was second in the 500 freestyle. She went 10:33.99 in the 1000, and she clocked in at a 5:10.08 in the 500, which is a new season best time for her. Teammates Reva Bork and Allison Hobbs took fourth and fifth respectively in the 1000 freestyle.
Bethany Olson had a good night for the Panthers, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives. She scored 276.82 points in the 1-meter dive and 270.60 points in the 3-meter dive. Fellow Panther Morgan Kinney took runner-up in both dives, finishing with 249.75 points in the 1-meter and 227.47 points in the 3-meter.
Lindsey Phelps took second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.10. Caryn Knight finished third in the 200 IM, clocking in at 2:15.07. Natalie Johnson finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.18.
The Panthers will head to Carbondale, Illinois, in two weeks for the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, hosted by Southern Illinois. The meet will take place February 16-18.
