T.J. Poe enters his second season at UNM as a Defensive and Special Teams graduate assistant. Prior to joiningthe Lobos, Poe was a defensive assistant at legendary Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif., where heworked under head coach Bruce Rollinson.
Poe played linebacker at the University of Washington from 2005-09. While at UW he played for the currentLobo defensive coordinator, Jeff Mills. He was a three-year letter winner and in 2006 was nominated for thePepsi Player of the Week. During the 2009 season, Poe led the special teams in tackles and was named acaptain for games against Idaho, Washington State, and California. He graduated with a degree in Sociology.
Poe is married to the former Ashley Roggenkamp of Enumclaw, Wash., and they had their first child, Camyrn, last fall.
