She closed the season becoming the first Creighton player to claim postseason All-America recognition, earning WBCA All-America Honorable Mention ... The BIG EAST Player of the Year, Janning was the league’s top scorer at 17.6 points per game overall and 19.9 against BIG EAST foes ... The sophomore guard was one of eight conference players to eclipse the 30-point mark and one of just four to do it on multiple occasions ... Her 38-point showing against Georgetown on Feb. 5 tied for the BIG EAST single-game high with Creighton’s own McKenzie Fujan (against DePaul on Jan. 4) ... The 38-point effort also tied the D.J. As a Royal, Janning delivered 3,587 points in her varsity career, which began as a seventh-grader ... She earned a combined 18 varsity letters in basketball (six), cross country (two), track (six) and volleyball (four) ... A four-time team MVP, Janning averaged 30.1 points per game as a senior, leading her squad to a 24-3 record ... She was named Minnesota Miss Basketball 2012, setting a new Minnesota record with 458 career three-pointers ... As a senior she also dished out 135 assists and grabbed 150 steals .... She earned AP Player of the Year as a senior and All-Metro First Team Honors from the Minneapolis Star Tribune as a junior and as a senior ... The point guard was named to the all-conference and all-section team every year since eighth grade ... Part of a basketball family, Janning’s brother Matt has played professionally since he graduated from Northeastern following a stellar college career, both in the NBA D League and in Europe. Matt is currently in the Denver Nuggets training camp.
