GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota Alumni Association and Foundation has announced that Katie Horob has been named associate director of the Fighting Sioux Club.

Horob spent the past year as a marketing assistant and Sioux Crew Coordinator for UND athletics.

As associate director of the Fighting Sioux Club, Horob will manage hallmark and high-impact Fighting Sioux Club events in accordance with the Fighting Sioux Club mission, which is to raise scholarship and program enhancement dollars for the UND athletics department. Horob will coordinate member relations activities and marketing initiatives to ensure club members stay updated.

In 2010-11, Fighting Sioux Club raised nearly $2.2 million and boasted over 2,300 members.

Horob, a native of Williston, N.D., obtained her master's degree in sport administration from the University of Northern Colorado in December 2010. She received her bachelor's degree in communication with an emphasis in public relations, as well as her bachelor's degree in exercise science, from Concordia College, Moorhead in 2009.
