OMAHA, Neb. - Drake men's tennis senior Jonathan Hadash (Lapid, Israel) was named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete first team, the league announced on Thursday (April 26).

Hadash was selected to the first team for the second-consecutive year on the strength of a 3.91 grade-point average in accounting. He has registered a 17-3 record, all in singles, this year to help the No. 48 Bulldogs surpass the 20-win plateau for the second-straight season.  Hadash is 10-1 on the dual campaign, including posting a 4-1 mark in conference play.

To be eligible for nominations to the MVC Scholar-Athlete teams, nominees must own a cumulative GPA of 3.20 based on a 4.0 scale and be a starter or important reserve and have played in at least 75 percent of its team's matches. Student-athletes must also have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at their institution and have completed at least one full academic year at the school.

The top-seeded Bulldogs (22-2, 5-0 MVC) open play at the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Saturday (April 28) in Omaha, Neb., as Drake seeks its sixth NCAA Tournament bid in school history, battling the winner of the Southern Illinois/Illinois State contest at 1:00 p.m.
