JMU Last Season (2011):  15-4 overall, 6-1 CAA (tournament champion; regular season tied first)

Last Week:  The Dukes began defense of their CAA title with a
16-6 home win over George Mason on March 31.

This Week
:  JMU continues CAA play with home contests against Hofstra on April 6 (5 p.m.) and against Drexel on April 8 (1 p.m.)

Scouting Hofstra:  The Pride has a 2-8 overall record and a 1-0 CAA record.  Four of Hofstra's losses have come to Top 20 teams, including an 11-9 loss to No. 12 Penn State on March 14.  The Pride's league win came at Drexel (15-9) on March 1.

The Series vs. Hofstra:
  Since the teams first met in 2002, JMU leads the series 10-4.  The Dukes barely got by the Pride last season, winning 9-8 at Hofstra.  JMU has not lost at home to Hofstra in seven meetings,

Scouting Drexel: The Dragons take a 7-2 overall record, a 0-1 CAA record and a five-game winning streak into an April 6 conference game at George Mason.  Their lone CAA loss was 15-9 at Hofstra on March 1.

The Series vs. Drexel:
  JMU holds a 10-0 lead in the series against Drexel.  Last year the Dukes edged the Dragons 9-8 in Philadelphia.

Zabel, Ancarrow Lead CAA in Offense:  Senior Monica Zabel is the CAA leader in assists (2.8 avg.) and points (4.0), and redshirt junior Casey Ancarrow is the league leader in goals (2.8).  Ancarrow also ranks second behind Zabel in points (3.5).
     Zabel ranks ninth in the NCAA in total assists (28) and sixth in assist average.

Zabel Nets 100th Career Assist:  Senior Monica Zabel handed out five assists in the Dukes' 16-6 win over George Mason on March 31 to boost her career assist total to 100.  She is in third place on JMU's career list and is only the third Duke ever with 100 career assists.
     JMU Hall of Fame inductee Megan Riley ('99) holds the Dukes' career record of 109, and Natasha Fuchs ('08) ranks second with 101.

Ancarrow Continues Steady Numbers on Attack:  Redshirt junior attacker Casey Ancarrow has either a goal or an assist in each of her 53 career games.

Ancarrow CAA Player of Week:  Redshirt junior attacker Casey Ancarrow was selected the CAA Player of the Week for the week ending April 1.
     Ancarrow scored five goals, tying her career-high, in the Dukes' March 31 16-6 home win over George Mason.
     The Dukes' attacker, who played only about half of the Mason game, also contributed an assist along with a game-high three ground galls, a team-high two draw controls and one caused turnover.
     With JMU trailing 3-2 midway through the first half of the contest, Ancarrow scored three of JMU's next four goals and assisted on the other goal to start an 8-0 run that gave JMU a 10-3 lead at halftime.  She scored the final goal of the run as well..
