On Saturday, April 21st, The Iona College Rowing program received generous donations from two very important friends of the program. Iona graduates Brother Robert Novak ’72 and Kevin McCullagh ’66 donated two singles boats to be used by the men’s and women’s teams at the Spring Metropolitan Regatta at Glen Island.

Both alumni chose to dedicate the boats in name of their late parents. Brother Novak chose to name the boat after his father Ed and mother Loretta. Mr. McCullagh, dedicated the other boat to his father Jim and mother Mary.

In a ceremony before the event, Brother Novak and Mr. McCullagh expressed how important their parents, especially during their time at Iona and on the crew team. Iona Athletics is very honored with the donations and will proudly row the Ed and Loretta Novak and Jim and Mary McCullaugh in the fall.
