Spots still open for Stan Marshall Golf Classic

Spring came in hot, and even though it cooled off lately, we expect things to heat up in time for the 32nd Annual Stan Marshall Golf Classic, set for June 1-2 at Brookings Country Club

Last year's successful event marked the first year that the golf tournament and auction took place on different weekends, and we hope that success continues in 2012, as we look forward to another fun couple of days!

New additions to the 2012 event include the premier contest holes, with prizes at that include gifts such as a new driver, putter or set of wedges.

The practice round begins on Friday, with open tee times in the afternoon, followed by a Social at the Country Club. Check-In for the tournament begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.

This year's format features a "Four Man and a Goat" format, which means that all team members tee off on each hole. From there the group chooses one player to play their own ball with a handicap while the other four play a scramble. Each team records two scores on each hole - goat and scramble.

There is NO MINIMUM on the number of holes each player must be the goat, however there is a MAXIMUM of six holes for any one player.

In order to score the rounds, each player needs to report their handicap. If you do not know your USGA GHIN #, we take your average 18-hole score to develop a handicap. It should make for an exciting day of golf!

To register your team, click on the link at the top of the page to download the registration form. The field is limited to 32 teams and is filled on a first come, first serve basis. The entry deadline is May 18, and the field fills up fast!
