Krsnak sets school record
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The South Dakota State men’s track and field team wrapped up their weekend today with top finishes at both the Razorback Spring Invite and the Wayne State Sunshine Meet.
Michael Krsnak broke the school record in the 3k with his time of 8:23.17. The previous time (8:26) was set by Chris Gruenhagen back in 2007.
Anthony Bongard also competed in the 3000-meter race; He completed the race in 8:32.30.
Phillip LaVallee finished in the top-ten in the 1500-meter run and the 800-meter run. In the 1500-meter run, LaVallee won his section with his time of 4:00.23 and he placed eighth overall. LaVallee took third in his heat in the 800-meter and he also finished eighth overall with a time of 1:59.37.
Andrew Thies finished fourth in the 3000-meter steeplechase, he completed the race in 9:46.67.
LeAndre Kennedy and Dominique Wright went back-to-back to finish 10th and 11th in the 100-meter dash with times of 10.94 and 10.97. Wright also placed 10th in the 200-meter dash with his time of 21.91.
In the 400-meter dash, Jared Foote placed fifth in a time of 48.34.
Jeremiah Ary finished in the top-ten in two events. In the long jump, he placed eighth overall with 22’ 9.25”. Ary set a new personal best in the triple jump with 46’ 2.00”. He finished ninth in the event.
In the field events, Ryan Ackman placed eighth in the discus with a throw of 139’ 8.00”.
Connor Berg recorded a height of 6’ 05.00” in the high jump. His height today is a new personal best for him in the high jump competition.
Mercil finished third in the 110-meter hurdles with his time of 17.27.
completed the 110-meter hurdles in 20.21. In the discus throw, he had a mark of 103’ 8.00.” He recorded a height of 9’ 03.75” in the pole vault and in the final event of the decathlon he ran the 1500-meter run in 5:22.02. He finished fourth overall with 4941 points.
Austin Hamm placed second in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 10:05.00.
Dylan Slaba took 11th in the 1500-meter run with his time of 4:20.81 and he also finished first in the 800-meter, he completed the race in 2:00.06.
Laron Broadway clocked in at 11.58 during the 100-meter dash, he placed 11th in the event.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Traxton Priebe placed fourth with his time of 57.74.
Mark Gorsuch recorded a height of 6’ 00.75 in the high jump, which he tied for fifth.
The Jackrabbits will be back in action again next weekend, as they will travel to Yankton, S.D. to compete in the SDSU/USD Duals hosted by the University of South Dakota. The meet will take place at the Yankton High School.
