CHARLESTON, S.C. - Junior men's soccer goalkeeper Kees Heemskerk (Zaandam, Netherlands) and sophomore volleyball player Sloane White (Indianapolis, Ind.) have been named the Piggly Wiggly Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of September 3.

A psychology major from the Netherlands, Heemskerk was instrumental in CofC's 2-0-0 week in which they were crowned the NIKE / Aaron Olitsky Memorial Classic last weekend. The junior goalkeeper allowed just one goal over the weekend en route to being named the tournament MVP. Against No. 40 Stanford, Heemskerk made four saves in over 93 minutes of work to allow the Cougars to come away with the 2-1 overtime victory. He followed that effort up with a shutout victory in which he made seven saves in a 1-0 win over No. 39 Dayton in the tournament finale.

White led the Cougars to a Courtyard Charleston North Classic tournament win with victories over Memphis and the Slovenian Junior National team. White earned tournament MVP honors after leading CofC with 14 kills and an attack percentage of .462 in the 3-1 win over Memphis. She is currently pacing the Cougars with an attack percentage of .338.
