HARRISONBURG, Va., April 18, 2012 -- The James Madison University women's soccer team awards for the 2011 season have been announced.

Sophomore forward Lauren Wilson (Coatesville, Pa./Downingtown) received the team's most valuable offensive player award.  Wilson was the Dukes' leader in goals (8) and points (22), and she shared the team lead in assists (6).  She was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association Second Team last fall.

Freshman defender Shannon Rano (Branchburg, N.J./Immaculata) won the team's Rookie of the Year award.  Rano, who was also named to the CAA All-Rookie Team last fall, started 11 games in 2011.

The JMU Coaches' Award was presented to redshirt senior midfielder Jessica Barndt (Novi, Mich./Novi) and junior forward Amalya Clayton (Springfield, Va./West Springfield).
