BAKERSFIELD, Calif.-CSU Bakersfield's Jessica Browning (Jr., Lake Forest, Calif., El Toro HS) has been selected first team All-WWPA as the All-Conference team was released Apr. 24. Browning is fifth in Division I in goals scored (74), fifth in points (112), and is 10th in assists (38).

Sam Shead (Jr., Johanesburg, South Africa, Rand Park HS) earned second team All-Conference honors. Shead posted 44 goals, 35 assists and 79 points this season. Shead is

Earning honorable mention All-Conference honors for CSUB were Shannon McKenzie (R-Jr., Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Rancho Cucamonga HS) and Taylor Hanson (So., Modesto, Calif., Johansen HS). McKenzie is the national leader in assists (72) and points (128). McKenzie also scored 56 goals. Hanson posted 39 goals, 41 assists, and 80 points in 2012.

Alex Bayer (Alta Loma, Calif., Los Osos HS) and Janelle Shelby (San Diego, Calif., Grossmont HS) were named to the WWPA’s All-Freshman team. Bayer went 13-8 as the Roadrunners’ goalie. She made 179 saves. Shelby scored 52 goals, and 12 assists, and 64 points in her rookie campaign.

CSUB is the No. 3 seed at this weeks WWPA Tournament. The Roadrunners take on the No. 6 seed, Cal State Monterey Bay (17-13) Friday at 3 p.m.
