RMU Student-Athlete of the Week (5/23/12)

It's been a good spring for senior midfielder Kiel Matisz of the lacrosse team. Named the 2012 Northeast Conference Player of the Year, Matisz is also a finalist for the 2012 Lowe's Senior CLASS award and was tabbed the 2012 Presidential Scholar-Athlete at RMU's annual All-Sports Banquet last month. He added another award to his docket May 18, as he was tabbed to the Capital One District II Academic All-America At-Large team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). For those efforts, Matisz is our latest RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week. A native of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Matisz finished his career at Robert Morris second in career points (166), four in career goals (94) and second in assists (72). During the 2012 campaign, Matisz finished with a single-season school record 64 points thanks to 40 goals and 24 assists.
