CONWAY, S.C. -- A pair of North Dakota throwers smashed the school record in the hammer throw today at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational.

Senior Christine Weinreich and junior Megan Storstad both made school history by toppling the old mark, with Weinreich's throw of 164 feet, 9 inches standing as the new record. Storstad's top throw came in at 161 feet, 4 inches.

Teammate Brooke Biederstedt, meanwhile, achieved a personal record in the event with a heave of 136 feet, 1 inch.

Among UND's other notable performances was Kirsten Haas' personal record time in the 400-meter hurdles, which qualified her for tomorrow's finals.
