MIAMI (June 7, 2012) - ESPN has announced that the FIU-Louisville football game at Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium on Sept. 22 will broadcast live on ESPN3, but may be added to the ESPNU schedule. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EST.

Additionally, Troy officials have announced kickoff for the FIU game on Oct. 20 to be at 3:30 p.m. EST. Game time is still tentative in lieu of possible network television availability.

Last season, the Panthers recorded a historic victory over eventual BIG EAST Co-Champion Louisville, 24-17, at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in the two school's lone other meeting.

In the 2011 game on Sept. 9, former FIU All-American receiver T.Y. Hilton dazzled a nationally-televised audience with seven catches for 201 yards, including highlight touchdown catches for 74 and 83 yards in the second quarter, earning National Player of the Week honors. Linebacker Winston Fraser would open the game with one of the program's longest interception returns for a touchdown, 71 yards, in the first quarter. Kicker Jack Griffin booted a 29-yard field goal in the third quarter, in addition to his three successful extra points made earlier in the game, to give the Panthers the ensuing seven-point victory.

Tickets to the highly-anticipated FIU-Louisville game at Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium are only available through one of the school's affordable season ticket plans, which start at $42 for the six-game 2012 home schedule.

In last year's meeting versus Troy in Miami, FIU put together a 14-point third quarter to eventually force overtime where Griffin kicked a 22-yard field goal to win the game, 23-20. The win marked FIU's second straight over the Trojans, having previously defeated them in Troy, 52-35, during the 2010 season.
