Women's Track & Field Wins Two and 4x400 Runs a Record at ECACs
ROXBURY, Mass. (3/4/12) - The Princeton women's track & field team finished third at the 2012 ECAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center this weekend March 3-4.
Junior Tory Worthen won her second career ECAC pole vault title. She cleared 3.90 meters (12-9.50) for the win.
Freshman Cecilia Barowski won the 500, clocking in at 1:12.37, edging Claire Mooney of St. John's by 0.39 seconds. Junior Joie Hand was fourth at 1:13.50. Both are PRs for the runners.
In the 800, junior Greta Feldman ran in at 2:07.84, just .73 seconds out of first place as she finished as the runner up. Classmate Alexis Mikaelian was third in the mile with a time of 4:48.45.
Sophomore Imani Oliver picked up points in the triple jump, placing seventh with a jump of 12.14 (39-10).
Barowski, Hand along with seniors Eileen Moran and Danielle Glaeser set a program record in the 4x400 relay. The group ran 3:44.92 in the preliminary round and ran 3:45.12 in the finals. The previous record of 3:45.21 was set in 1998 by Catherine Sutcliffe '01, Allison Brown '00, Michelle D'Agostino'98 and Bynia Reed '98.
The Tigers earned 44 points in the two-day championship.
The NCAA Championship selections will be made by the committee on Monday by 7 p.m.
