men and women's track and field teams have been honored as U.S. Track & Field
and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Teams it was
announced by the organization on July 26.
For a team to be considered for
the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award they must have a minimum 3.00 team
The Princeton men are one of just 86 teams that earned the honor, and the women are one of 171.
The men's team won its second consecutive triple crown with Princeton earning the Most Outstanding Performer of the Meet both indoors and outdoors. The Tigers were declared Heps champions in 13 events, while a total of 35 all-Ivy League honors were awarded. Seventeen members of the team qualified for the NCAA East Regional outdoors, with five advancing to the championship site. Every member of the team that competed in the NCAAs earned All-America honors, with five outdoors and two indoors. Two members of the team were named to The Bowerman List, while Princeton also won two Penn Relays. One member of the team won the national title in the steeplechase, set the American college record and made the US Olympic team.
Twenty-nine all-Ivy League honors were presented to the women's team during the indoor and outdoor seasons. Seventeen won Heps titles, including relays. Seven members of the team qualified for the NCAA East Regional. One member of the team went
on to finish fifth in the outdoor 1500 at the NCAA championships,
earning All-America honors and qualifying for the US Olympic Trials.
Four members of each team were named All-Academic by the same organization last week.
