HILTON HEAD, S.C. -- Becoming Princeton's first tournament medalist in three years, sophomore golfer Kelly Shon won the Low Country Intercollegiate title Monday afternoon in South Carolina.

Shon is the first Princeton medalist in a tournament since Susannah Aboff '09 won the Ivy League Championship in 2009.

With a 75 Sunday and a 74 Monday, Shon shared the title with Maria Luz Besio of Division II Newberry College, the pair finishing three shots in front of a group of five players at +8. One of those players was Princeton's Wonji Choi, who turned in a 74 Sunday and a 78 Monday.

Appalachian State won the team title at +45, two shots on front of Radford in the 15-team field. Princeton finished 11th, 26 shots behind Appalachian State.
