MEET THE MEN'S CLASS OF 2016

In June of 2008, CollegeSwimming.com ranked the incoming Princeton men's swimming class fifth nationally; that group went on to justify that lofty standard by winning four straight Ivy League titles. That newly graduated class is being replaced by one that also earned a Top-5 ranking.

The four-time reigning Ivy League champion Princeton Tigers have the fifth-ranked incoming class, as named in the recent CollegeSwimming.com national poll. The only schools that finished ahead of Princeton were USC, Stanford, California and Georgia. Meanwhile, Princeton was ranked ahead of such national powers as Texas, Michigan and Florida.

The recruiting class (both swimmers and divers) is deep in both quality and quantity. Fourteen (13 swimmers/one diver) will join the team this fall as it begins preparations for a fifth straight Ivy League championship surge. Eight of the swimmers earned national rankings, including five withing the Top 80.

The top-ranked swimmer coming in is Byron Sanborn, who is ranked 14th nationally and should provide immediate replacement for eight-time Ivy League individual champion and 2012 First-Team All-America Jon Christensen in both the breast and IM events.

Both Jack Pohlmann and Teo D'Alessandro were also Top-50 recruits and will also provide impact in the breast events, while D'Alessandro should also impact the free events, which loses key sprint and relay performers Colin Cordes, Michael Monovoukas and Matthew LaMonaca.

Also making the Top 100 was Marco Bove, a three-time Italian Junior national champion in the 200 fly, and En-Wei Hu-Van Wright, an Olympic Trial qualifier in the 100 back.
