2012-13: Earned Second-Team All-Ivy League honors in the 800 and 200 freestyle relays, while also notching 3rd place finishes in the 400 free relay and 200 freestyle, as well as 6th place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle. Was the only Lion to qualify for three championship finals and finished as Columbia's second-highest individual point scorer, contributing 75 points in his individual events.
2011-12: Earned Second-Team All-Ivy League honors in the 400 freestyle relay. Also placed 3rd in the 200 and 800 free relay, 8th in the 50 and 200 freestyle events, and 12th in the 100 freestyle.
2010-11: Had a breakout sophomore season … named CollegeSwimming.com Honorable Mention Mid-Major All-American … one of the top scoring underclassmen at the 2011 Ivy League Championships, scoring points in six events … earned first team All-Ivy League honors as a member of the Ivy League Championship 400 free relay … earned second team All-Ivy League honors as a member of the second place 200 free relay … part of the 800 free relay squad that placed third overall … qualified for the championship finals of the 100 free, placing fourth with a time of 44.79 … also qualified for the championship finals of the 200 free, placing sixth overall in 1:38.82 … won the consolation final of the 50 free, with an NCAA ‘B’ cut time of 20.30 … finished ninth overall, with a time that was the fourth fastest in the Ivy League that day.
2009-10: Was a top performer for the Lions at the ECAC championships, making an appearance in three different individual championship finals … qualified for the championships of the 50, 100 and 200 free … was the fastest qualifier in the preliminaries of the 200 free, and finished second in the finals (1:39.82) … finished fifth in the 100 free (46.62) … came in sixth in the 50 free (21.09) … also scored points for the Lions in the 200 free relay (7th – 1:24.94), 400 free relay (7th – 3:08.34) and the 400 medley relay (5th – 3:25.30).
At The Lawrenceville School: Earned seven varsity letters in water polo (3) and swimming (4) … team captain of the swim team his senior year … Pacific Swimming record holder in the 200 free relay … NJISAA Prep-A Championship Swimmer of the Meet his senior year … three-time Trenton Times All-Area selection … two-time Star-Ledger All-Prep first-team selection … member of the four-time New Jersey Prep-A championship team.
Personal: Political science major ... son of Anne and John Wright … born 7-31-90 …mother, Anne, swam at Lake Forest College, where she was an American record holder … uncle Ross Wales swam at Princeton, where he was an NCAA record holder, and went on to win a bronze medal at the Olympics … uncle Dod Fraser and cousin Craig Wales also swam at Princeton … cousin, Dod Wales, swam at Stanford … National Merit semifinalist.
