Tom Eichler joined the Columbia women's rowing staff in September 2011 as an assistant coach. A 2010 Columbia graduate, Eichler was a member of the Lions' highly successful heavyweight rowing team.
A varsity oarsman for three years, Eichler was a member of the historic 2008 crew that captured the Blackwell, Childs and Stevenson Cups and reached the IRA Grand Final. That Columbia team ultimately went on to compete at the Henley Royal Regatta in England in 2008. As a pair with Evan Cassidy '10CC, Eichler compiled a four-year record of 44-7.
After graduation from Columbia, Eichler spent the 2010-11 season as a volunteer assistant coach with the UC San Diego women's rowing program. He implemented a yearly training plan by facilitating practices with both novice and varsity teams.
Eichler earned a bachelor's degree in psychology as an undergraduate at Columbia.
