NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior Brendan Doyle closed The Macdonald Cup in a tie for fourth place, to lead the Columbia men's golf team's effort at the 36-hole event. As a team, the Lions improved on their first-round score by five shots to tie for eighth.
Doyle, who entered the day two shots off the lead, shot a 73 to finish at even-par 140 for the tournament. Sophomore Jordan Lee matched Doyle's performance with a 73 of his own on Sunday, and finished at 144.
The day's best round belonged to sophomore Andrew Kim, who shot 72 and closed his two-day tournament at 149. Juniors Ford Fischer and Michael Yiu carded rounds of 73, while senior Sam Mysock rounded out Columbia's competitors in the field at 153.
Columbia rounds out the fall season at The Classic at Shelter Bay on Oct. 15-16.
