Football Welcomes 32 in 2012 Recruiting Class

NEW YORK  - Pete Mangurian, Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football, announced today that 31 first-year student-athletes and one transfer will comprise the Class of 2016.

Fourteen states were represented in Columbia Football's Class of 2016 with the New York/New Jersey Metropolitan area and Texas leading the way with seven players each.  In addition to New York, New Jersey and Texas, Illinois, California, Pennsylvania, Florida, Virginia, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Ohio, Missouri, Oregon and Arizona were all represented in this year's recruiting class. 

There are six defensive backs, six wide receivers, five linebackers, five offensive linemen, four defensive linemen, three offensive backs, two quarterbacks and a tight end.

"We are excited to welcome this class of 32 student-athletes to the Columbia Football program," Coach Mangurian said. "I look forward to working with them later this summer in preseason camp."
