Coach Mangurian on Brian East: Was the number four linebacker last year. Saw action as a starter in some substituted packages. Should compete for the starting Sam spot this spring. Good range and length, above average coverage skills. Dependable and tough, has improved size and strength this spring.

2012: Played in all 10 games … totaled 25 tackles with 13 solo tackles and two fumble recoveries … totaled seven tackles (four solo), broke up a pass and recovered a fumble against Fordham … had a pass breakup and two tackles against Princeton … recovered a fumble and assisted on a tackle at Lehigh … registered one tackle for loss and three total tackles at Penn … posted three solo stops against Cornell … ended the year with three tackles at Brown.

2011: Played in nine varsity games ... totalled 15 tackles and one quarterback hurry.

2010: Saw junior varsity action.

At Carmel: Four-year member of the varsity football team ... three-year varsity starter and letterwinner ... team captain as a senior ... played at outside linebacker and long snapper ... second-leading tackler in Carmel High School history (365 tackles) ... helped team to 2007 Class 5A State Championship and three Class 5A State Runners-Up finishes (2006, 2008, 2009) ... named to Top 50 All State Team by Indiana Football Coaches Association in 2009 ... participated in 2010 Indiana North/South All Star Team and was named Associated Press First Team All-State ... garnered Hamilton Country Player of the Year honors in 2009 and was named to Indianapolis Star Super Team and to Indiana Region Eight All-Star Team ... earned all-state honors in 2008 by Indiana Football Coaches Association.
