Over the years, Barry has been one of the strongest supporters of the sport of wrestling and the elite athletes who represent the United States on the global stage. He has provided financial support for a variety of USA Wrestling projects that provide additional training and competition opportunities for all wrestlers and expanded direct support for elite athletes.

Barry also serves as a steward for the Living The Dream Medal Fund, which provides financial support for the nation’s wrestling champions as they work to represent the United States at the World Championships and the Olympic Games.

In addition, Barry serves as a trustee for Beat The Streets, an organization whose mission is to expand and develop wrestling in the New York City Metropolitan Area from the youth through the Olympic level.

During his Columbia wrestling career, Barry was a first-team All-Ivy League selection as a sophomore, a two-time EIWA placewinner and a team captain as a senior.

In 2011, David Barry and his brother Michael Barry ’89CC generously committed to establishing an endowment in support of a Columbia assistant wrestling coach position. This past May, both Barry brothers received Athletics Alumni Awards at the 91st Annual Varsity C Celebration: Celebrating Our Student-Athletes at Levien Gymnasium.
