RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- After winning the PacWest title in its first year in the conference, California Baptist University had five players named to the all-conference team including PacWest Pitcher of the Year Emma Holden.

The Pitcher of the Year race really came down a choice between one of the Lancers two aces, as Tory Ferreira joined Holden as the only other pitcher on the All-PacWest First Team. Mara Rodriguez earned first team honors at third base as well.

Sloan McHann and Tina Galinato took home second team all-conference honors, with McHann being named Second Team All-PacWest at first base and Galinato garnering the award in the outfield.

Holden led the conference in wins with a 23-4 record this season, finishing first in opponent's batting average (.181), second in ERA (1.70) and tops in strikeouts with 267. The next closest pitcher on the strikeout list was at 125.

Ferreira led the conference in both win percentage (.917) and ERA (1.64), compiling a 22-2 record for the Lancers. She held batters to a .197 average (second in the PacWest) and was fifth in strikeouts with 103.

Rodriguez had one of the best offensive seasons of any player in the PacWest, finishing in the Top 5 of eight major offensive categories. Her .414 average was fourth in the conference and her .790 slugging percentage topped the list. Rodriguez had the second most runs scored (44), fourth most RBI (47), second most home runs (13) and the most total bases (124) of any player in the PacWest.

As for the Lancers second-teamers, Galinato posted the seventh best overall batting average and third best of any outfielder, hitting .401 this season, and also was second in doubles with 18. She was Top 10 in eight offensive categories, including the fifth best slugging percentage at .687.

McHann posted a .335 batting average with 34 RBI (ninth in the conference) and the sixth most homers in the PacWest with eight. She led all first basemen in both home runs and slugging percentage (.559) and was tied for the lead in runs scored (24).

For Holden and Ferreira it was their fourth straight all-conference selection, dating back to the Lancers' days in the Golden State Athletic Conference, and it was also Holden's second straight conference Pitcher of the Year award.

For Rodriguez, Galinato and McHann it was their second all-conference selection.

The Lancers won the PacWest with a 26-4 conference record and will now play in the NCCAA National Tournament after winning a West Regional matchup with Hope International. NCCAA National Tournament play begins May 10 in Botetourt County, Va.
