RIVERSIDE, Calif. --- With opening round matchups complete, the NAIA released the pool play pairings and national tournament schedule for the 31st Annual NAIA Women’s Volleyball National Tournament.

Heading to its seventh straight national tournament, California Baptist University is the top seed in Pool E and draws GSAC foe Biola in the four team pool. The Lancers will also face Lindenwood (Mo.) and Bellvue (Neb.).

The final 24 teams are placed into six pools and will play a round robin pool play Nov. 30 - Dec. 2, with the top two teams from each pool advancing to the single elimination bracket starting Dec. 3. The championship match will take place at 8 p.m. CST on Dec. 4.

POOL PLAY MATCH-UPS

vs. Bellvue, Nov. 30, 1 p.m. (CST) – The Bruins (34-11) earned an opening round matchup as the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament champion. Bellvue defeated St. Xavier with an impressive 3-0 sweep to move on to the final site. The Bruins are 7-10 in five appearances at the national tournament. This will be the first meeting between the schools.

vs. Lindenwood, Dec. 1, 1 p.m. (CST) – Lindenwood (34-12) earned its third appearance at the national tournament with a Heartland of America Athletic Conference Tournament championship. The Lions defeated Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) 3-0 to earn their way to the final site. Lindenwood is 3-4 all-time at the national championship. In the only previous meeting between the two teams, the lancers defeated Lindenwood 3-0 earlier this season at the Point Loma Nazarene Seaside Invite.

vs. Biola, Dec. 2, 3:15 p.m. (CST) – Biola (25-8) earned an at-large bid and was one of five GSAC teams to earn an automatic invitation to the final site. After being locked in a battle for second-place in the GSAC with the Lancers all season, the Eagles were sunk by a final-match loss to Point Loma Nazarene and took third in the conference. The two teams traded wins this season with each one winning at home. Biola handed CBU its first loss of the year after the Lancers had opened the season with a program record 18-match win streak. CBU got revenge later in the season, handing Biola a 3-1 loss. Biola is making its 10th appearance at the national tournament and is 35-18 all time. The Eagles hold a 37-25 lead in the all-time series with the Lancers.
