DeKalb, Ill. - The Huskers traveled back to Illinois for the NCAA Midwest Region hosted by Northern Illinois at the Northern Illinois University Cross-Country Facility. On the women's side Wichita State's Aliphine Tuliamuk raced to an individual title with a time of 20:40.68, Tuliamuk also won the individual crown at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational. Individually for the Huskers, White and Miller earned all-region honors for the first time in their careers. Katie White, a senior from Broken Bow, paced the Huskers with a time of 21:31.05. Teammate Ashley Miller a senior co-captain from Iowa, placed 15th also earning All-Region honors. The women competed well as a team with four runners in the top 75.

On the men's side, Doering, a senior from Yuba City, Calif., lead the way for the Huskers, finishing 44th (32:28.26). Doering was followed by co-captains senior Jesse Adams with a 66th-place effort and junior Trevor Vidlak who finished 80th.

The men ran a veteran team as three seniors, three juniors and one sophomore competed at the regional. Out of the nine regional meets across the country, the Midwest is arguably one of the toughest, as the 25-team field included four top-30 nationally ranked teams, including No. 2 Oklahoma State.
