Huskers Announce Volleyball Television Coverage for 2012 Season

Lincoln- The Nebraska Athletic Department and the Big Ten Conference announced a total of 17 Husker volleyball matches will be televised or streamed online this fall. The Big Ten Network, which has been assigned all of Nebraska's television rights for all sports from the Big Ten Conference, will televise four conference matches during the 2012 season, along with one non-conference match. In addition, NET Television will televise six matches statewide in Nebraska. Adding in two ESPN2 telecasts and at least four matches webcast on, Husker fans will be able to see Nebraska on television and the web a minimum of 17 times this season. Other road conference matches carried by are likely to be added as each conference school sets its Student U/ schedules.

In their first televised match of the season, the Huskers will take on defending national champion UCLA in the NU Coliseum on Saturday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. The Huskers and Bruins, who have combined for seven NCAA Championships, will air live on BTN.

BTN will also broadcast the Huskers' first conference match of the 2012 season, as Nebraska travels to University Park, Pa., to take on the Nittany Lions on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.

The Huskers' match against Michigan State on Sept. 26 will also be broadcast on BTN, in addition to Nebraska's match at Purdue on Oct. 5 and against Penn State on Oct. 28. ESPN2 will telecast NU's matchup with Minnesota on Sunday, Oct. 14 and the Huskers' match at Illinois on Sunday, Oct. 21. Four other matches will be webcast on, including two home conference matches at the Coliseum (Indiana on Nov. 9 and Purdue on Nov. 10).

NET Television will air six of the Huskers' matches in 2012, including Nebraska's match against Notre Dame on Aug. 26, the match against Oklahoma on Sept. 6, Kentucky on Sept. 8, Michigan on Sept. 30, Wisconsin on Oct. 12 and Ohio State on Oct. 26.

All of the Huskers' matches on NET will be carried on NET1 and will be shown in high definition on NET-HD and will also be streamed live on The NET Sports broadcast team of Larry Punteney and Kathi Weiskamp will once again bring fans all of the action.
