The Big Ten Network visited the Huskers' sixth practice of fall camp on Thursday night, and BTN will air its Nebraska segment of the Big Ten Football Preview Tour tonight at 9 p.m. (Central).
Dave Revsine, Gerry DiNardo, Howard Griffith and Tom Dienhart were all in Lincoln last night to watch the Huskers practice for more than two hours in full pads. The analysts were impressed with their initial reactions to the 2012 Huskers, especially DiNardo, a fomer college head coach.
In a series of tweets this morning, DiNardo labeled Nebraska's defense as "much improved" and said the Blackshirts have "a deep D that can really run." DiNardo went on to say that "this team is built like a lot of previous Nebraska team(s) that were dominant."
Dienhart also wrote about what he learned at Nebraska's practice. Dienhart's preview focused more on Nebraska's freshmen, as he came away impressed with quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr., I-back Imani Cross, linebacker Michael Rose, cornerback Charles Jackson and defensive tackles Vincent Valentine and Avery Moss, among others. In the trenches, Dienhart wrote that Nebraska's defensive line could be a "special group", while the offensive line "could be outstanding." Dienhart also speculated that Nebraska might have the best collection of receivers in the Big Ten.
Tonight's preview will air on BTN and BTN-HD, and it will also be available on BTN2GO. Archived video of segments will also be available on BTN.com's Nebraska video page, located at http://btn.com/schools/nebraska/video.
