DURHAM, N.C. – Just over a week after capturing a silver medal in her first Olympic appearance, Duke’s Abby Johnston says she is still in shock over her achievement. Johnston and Kelci Bryant ended a 12-year medal drought for the United States in Olympic diving when they took silver in the women’s synchronized 3-meter competition on July 29 at the London Aquatic Centre.

Johnston, who will remain in the Olympic Village for the duration of the 2012 Olympic Games to watch fellow Duke diver Nick McCrory compete in the men’s individual 10-meter event, recently checked in with GoDuke.com via Skype to reflect on the diving competition, what it feels like to medal and other parts of her Olympic experience in London.
