Lady Tigers Improve to 16th at SEC/Pac-12

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The LSU women's golf team improved its second round score 12 strokes, shooting the seventh best team round of the afternoon in the 23-team field at the SEC-Pac 12 Challenge Saturday at the Holston Hills Country Club.

LSU posted a 7-over score of 295 to post a 36-hole total of 26-over par score of 602, moving from 19th to 16th place in the standings of the event featuring the 12 teams of the SEC and the 11 golf-playing schools of the Pac 12.

The SEC moved to the front as Alabama posted a 1-over 289 to take the lead at 3-under 573 for 36-holes (284-289). Defending national champion UCLA had their problems, shooting 9-over as a team to stand at 2-over 578 (281-297) for the first 36-holes. Auburn is third at 6-over 582 (296-286), one shot ahead of Tennessee at 7-over 583 (291-292).

The Lady Tigers had a very consistent scoring round with Madelene Sagstrom and Tessa Teachman each posting rounds of 1-over 73, Austin Ernst a 2-over 74 and Jacqueline Hedwall 3-over 75.

Sagstrom and Hedwall are at 5-over 149 after two rounds and are tied for 37th in the individual standings led by Nathalie Mansson of Tennessee and Stephanie Meadow of Alabama at 5-under 139.
