2012: Played and started in 37 games, primarily at first base ... led Western Michigan with a .346 batting average, collecting 46 hits in 133 at bats ... improved batting average to .368 during MAC games ... also had a team-best .404 on-base percentage ... hit two home runs, six doubles, one triple and drove in 23 runs ... had a .451 slugging percentage (.526 during MAC games) and a .989 fielding percentage ... rattled off an 11-game hitting streak and reached base safely in 16 consecutive games ... also appeared on the mound in five contests, striking out eight batters in 15.1 innings pitched ... missed 18 games with injury and was a vital part of WMU's success - the Broncos went 12-3 during MAC play with Forton in the lineup and 2-9 during the 11 conference games he missed ... maintained highest GPA on the WMU baseball team (3.53 GPA) ... 2012 WMU Scholar-Athlete recipient.

2011: Started all but one game at first base ... also made 14 appearances on the mound in relief, going 3-1 with a 2.35 ERA and three saves ... struck out 18 batters in 23.0 innings pitched and held opponents to a team-low .213 batting average against ... batted .255 with eight doubles, two home runs, 31 RBIs, 32 runs scored and was 6-for-8 in stolen bases ... had 15 multi-hit games and 6 multi RBI games ... batted 6-for-12 with one RBI and five runs scored in Akron series (3/25-27) ... went 3-for-4 against Oakland (3/29) ... drove in two runs in back-to-back games of doubleheader vs. Ohio (4/9) ... went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and four runs scored at Ball State (5/6) ... hit first career home run in MAC Tournament game against Miami (5/26) and followed with second career game in following game of tournament against Central Michigan (5/27), going 2-for-4 with a career -high four RBIs ... on the mound, went first six appearances and 9.2 innings pitched before giving up a run ... did not allow a run in 11 of 14 appearances ... threw three scoreless innings, yielding just one hit and striking out four in 3.0 innings to earn win against Ohio State (2/26) ... earned saves in three straight appearances - against Northeastern (3/3), Rhode Island (3/5) and at Indiana State (3/13) ... struck out the side in one inning of relief against Eastern Michigan (4/24) ... threw 2.1 shutout innings at Toledo (4/30) and 1.1 scoreless innings at Michigan State (5/4) ... did not allow a run and just two hits to earn the win at Ball State, setting season high for innings pitched with five and career high for strikeouts with seven.

2010: Made 19 appearances on the mound, second most on the team, and started two contests ... also played 16 games on the field, starting nine at first base and one as designated hitter ... went 1-5 on the mound with a 5.60 ERA and one save ... struck out 32 batters in 54.2 innings pitched ... one of only two Bronco pitchers to throw a complete game ... tossed 3.0 scoreless innings of relief, allowing only one hit in win over Michigan State (4/14) ... earned save at Eastern Michigan in game one, recording final out and threw 2.1 shutout innings in game two (4/23) ... fanned four batters in 1.2 innings vs. Villanova (3/4) ... struck out the side in an inning of relief against Butler (3/6) ... did not allow a run and just one hit in 2.0 innings vs. Michigan (5/4) ... did not allow an earned run in 2.2 innings at Northern Illinois (5/21) ... carried a .235 batting average at the plate ... hit first career double vs. Illinois State (3/1) ... went 2-for-3 with two RBIs against St. Bonaventure (3/5).

2009: Appeared in 18 games, all in relief ... made second most appearances on the team ... tallied a 2-2 record with a 8.26 ERA ... struck out 33 in 44.2 innings pitched ... picked up victory in a 5-4 win vs. Michigan State (4/8), allowing two runs on four hits in two innings ... second win was in a 14-13 contest at Buffalo (4/12), throwing a season long 4.2 innings and allowing two runs on four hits, while striking out three ... struck our four batters in 3.1 innings at Oral Roberts (2/20) and four batters in 4.0 innings at Ball State (3/26) ... fanned a season-high six batters in 3.0 innings at Michigan (5/5).

High School: Played third base and pitched at North Muskegon ... finished career with a 20-5 record on the mound, while batting .520 ... named First Team All-State, as well as all-district, all-area, all-region, and all-conference as a junior and senior ... collected team MVP honors in final two seasons ... also lettered in football.
