DURHAM, N.C. –Following a MRI on Monday morning, Blue Devil doctors confirmed Duke sophomore point guard Alexis Jones tore her left anterior cruciate ligament in Sunday’s 81-70 loss at second-ranked Notre Dame.  Jones will miss the remainder of the season and will have surgery on Thursday, Feb. 27.

Jones, an All-America candidate, was averaging 13.1 points, 5.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 steals on the season for the seventh-ranked Blue Devils.  A native of Irving, Texas, Jones had picked up her game since All-America senior guard Chelsea Gray was injured on Jan. 12 as she was averaging 14.4 points, 7.2 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals over the span of 11 contests.

Duke (24-4, 11-3 ACC) will next host Wake Forest on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m.  It will mark senior night and will be aired live on ESPN3.
