DURHAM, N.C. – has released its 14 players to watch for 2014 with Duke redshirt sophomore Cassie Pecht listed.  Pecht missed the entire 2013 campaign following knee surgery, after a standout freshman campaign.

Duke's first National Freshman of the Year in school history, Pecht started all 23 matches in 2012 for the Blue Devils at both the midfield and forward positions.  She earned National Freshman of the Year accolades to go along with All-ACC Freshman and Second Team All-Southeast Region honors in 2012.

A native of Mechanicsville, Pa., Pecht registered six goals, 15 assists and a total of 27 points in her rookie campaign. In the Duke single-season freshman charts, Pecht's 15 assists was a new record, while her 27 points tied for second. Her 15 assists led the NCAA in 2012 and she ranked tied for ninth in the ACC with 27 points.

Her 15 assists was the second-most in Duke's overall history. Pecht scored or assisted in 15 of the Blue Devils' 23 matches.

Duke is coming off collecting a 9-9-6 overall record and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals before falling at top-seeded Virginia Tech.  The Blue Devils are expected to return five starters in 2014 – Kelly Cobb, Toni Payne, Lizzy Raben, Christina Gibbons and Kara Wilson.  The Blue Devils will also welcome back midfielder Gilda Doria, who missed last season due to a knee injury.
