DURHAM, N.C. -- The Duke women’s tennis team moved up one spot to No. 5 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, as announced by the organization Thursday. The Blue Devils are also heavily represented in the rankings by four singles players and five doubles pairs.

Sophomore Beatrice Capra held steady at No. 7 in the latest rankings, continuing to headline the Blue Devil contingent this season. Junior Ester Goldfeld, also appearing on the ITA’s list throughout the season, remained ranked among the nation’s top-30 singles players, appearing at No. 27. Senior Hanna Mar, currently ranked 36th by the ITA, has not appeared outside of the top 40 since Feb. 25, while freshman Chalena Scholl currently ranks 116th.

In doubles, Duke’s tandem of Capra and Mar remained in the top-five, appearing at No. 5. Two additional Duke doubles teams, including the duo of Goldfeld and freshman Alyssa Smith and the tandem of junior Annie Mulholland and Goldfeld ranked among the nation’s top 50, appearing at No. 36 and No. 45, respectively. The team of Goldfeld and senior Marianne Jodoin and the pairing of Mulholland and Scholl rounded out Duke’s nationally-ranked doubles teams, appearing at No. 60 and No. 69, respectively.

The Blue Devils garnered the fourth seed in the NCAA Team Championship and are scheduled to host East Tennessee State (14-8) in the first round Friday, May 9, at 1 p.m. in Durham, N.C. Tickets are on sale for the matches and can be purchased at GoDuke.com/tickets.
