CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Members of the Duke women’s tennis team will compete in the USTA/ITA Carolina Regional Championships this week, which will be played at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina from Oct. 17-21.
The tournament will feature the top women's tennis players from the states of North Carolina and South Carolina all together in Chapel Hill, N.C. Action begins on Thursday, Oct. 17 with qualifying singles and main draw doubles, and continues to the conclusion of the event on Monday, Oct. 21 with the finals of singles play and both semifinal and finals in doubles.
In the main draw doubles action, the Blue Devils will feature three tandems – Capra/Mar, Mulholland/Chalena Scholl and Jodoin/Smith. The doubles teams will begin play at 8:30 a.m., on Friday. The team of Capra/Mar are seeded No. 1 and Duke’s other duos are seeded No. 5.
Parents and fans should park only in the Hwy 54 Park and Ride lot on Thursday and Friday before 5 p.m. Signs will be posted, but they should use the Hwy 54 Park and Ride lot, which is the last lot on the left before Friday Center Drive dead ends.
