GREENSBORO, N.C. –  The league office released the 2014 All-ACC Academic Team for women’s golf Friday with four Blue Devils earning accolades.  Duke senior Laetitia Beck, senior Alejandra Cangrejo, sophomore Celine Boutier and freshman Sandy Choi received recognition.

Duke along with Notre Dame, Miami and Wake Forest led the way with four members on the All-ACC Academic Team.  Clemson, Florida State claimed three players apiece while Boston College, North Carolina and NC State each placed two players. Maryland and Virginia landed one player each to complete the team.

Boutier earned All-ACC Academic Team honors for the second straight year, after claiming WGCA and Honda Award for National Player of the Year.  She registered a 71.50 stroke average, three victories, six top five finishes and seven top 10 placements on the season.  A product of Montrouge, France, Boutier played her best golf of the season in the spring notching a 70.77 stroke average, three wins and six top 20 finishes in seven events.  She is majoring in Psychology.

For the third time in her career, Beck earned the academic honor.  She posted a 72.29 stroke average, five top five finishes, six top 10 and seven top 20 placements in her final season with the Blue Devils.  Beck, who is out of Caesarea, Israel, featured a string of three straight top five finishes at the Bryan National Collegiate, PING/ASU Invitational and the ACC Championship.  She closed her career with a round of two-under, 68, to help propel the Blue Devils to the NCAA Championship.  Beck received a degree in Psychology.

Cangrejo, out of Bogota, Colombia, earned honors for the fourth straight year.  She carded a 74.89 stroke average on the season with two top 20 finishes.  She closed her career with a two-under-par, 68, to help propel Duke to the NCAA Championship in Tulsa, Okla.  Cangrejo received a degree in Psychology.  

As a freshman, Choi played the best golf of her season in the spring as she notched two top 10 finishes over her final three tournaments.  A native of San Diego, Calif., Choi placed fourth at the ACC Championship and tied seventh at the NCAA East Regional, while totaling a 73.71 stroke average on the year.  She is undecided on a major.  

Duke claimed the NCAA and ACC Championship in 2013-14 marking the sixth time the Blue Devils have won the NCAA title under head coach Dan Brooks.  
To be eligible for consideration for the All-ACC Academic team, a student-athlete, regardless of classification, must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
