DURHAM, N.C. -- Ryan Blaum, a three-time All-America selection at Duke, placed first on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica's Order of Merit to earn status to play next season on the Web.com Tour. He was awarded the Roberto De Vicenzo Award by virtue of his No. 1 finish on the 'Los Cinco'.
Also earning tour status along with Blaum were Jose de Jesus Rodriguez, Timothy O'Neal, Jorge Fernandez-Valdez and Manual Villegas.
Blaum played in 14 PGA Tour Latinoamerica events this season claiming medalist honors at the Dominican Republic Open and Aberto do Brasil. He also had a pair of runner-up finishes and seven top 10 showings overall. Blaum closed the season with $99,135 in earnings.
Blaum wrapped up the PGA Tour Latinoamerica season with a fifth place finish at the Visa Open de Argentina. He fired an opening round 67 to grab an early lead in the event before closing 73-72-70 to secure the top spot in the Los Cinco Order of Merit.
Blaum has played professionally, primarily on the Hooters, European Challenge and PGA Latinoamerica Tours, since graduating from Duke in 2006. He has five tour victories on his resume as well as over 10 mini-tour titles.
