Wednesday was another bright and early start for us. We played Botafogo, a professional team, in beach soccer. It took us a little bit to figure out the different style and dynamics of beach soccer. Tomas had a goal in the early stages of the 1st quarter but Botafogo were very good and held us to the lone goal while putting several in our net. Despite the score, playing beach soccer against a professional team was an amazing experience. After the game and some team pictures we headed to the ocean to cool off and then headed back to the hotel to shower and get ready for the Chile vs Spain game.

Side note from the beach: Michael Assaraf had an interesting choice in his attire. May or may not see a picture to follow.

Once back at the hotel we showered and ate before the game. Around 12:45 we were on the bus and headed to Maracanã stadium. We got to our seats about 45 minutes before kickoff to see both teams warm up. The stadium was packed with die-hard Chilean fans. Just as the game was starting, a fan just a couple seats down and one row up lit a firework of some sort. Security was quick to spot the two fans responsible and they were quickly removed. The Chile fans sang song after song to support their team and it definitely showed in the way Chile played the entire game. The atmosphere at the game was incredible and so too were the Chile fans. After the game we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner.

After waiting for everyone to get back downstairs, we were off to dinner. The dinner was phenomenal. All you can eat buffet with almost everything you could imagine: sushi, pizza, steak, and pasta just to name a few. After a great dinner, it was time to call it a night and head to bed to get ready for the next day.

Tomorrow we will play our final game and we look forward to playing with the seniors for one last game.
