KAZAN, RUSSIA –Former Duke University men’s soccer standout James Belshaw helped lead Great Britain to a 2-0 victory over Malaysia to kick off the 2013 World University Games in Kazan, Russia. Great Britain next plays Italy July 10 at 9 a.m. (ET).
 
Belshaw anchored Great Britain to the 2-0 victory over Malaysia with five saves. Great Britain will battle Italy to clinch the top spot in the g. The Italian squad lost to Malaysia 2-0 July 5. The winner of Group D will play the second place from Group B in the quarterfinal July 12 at 12 p.m. (ET). The runner up from Group D will take on the winner from Group A at the same time.
