PEORIA, Ill. - Paula Buscher, who has served as the Bradley University women's basketball coach for the previous 12 seasons, has resigned in order to accept the head coach position at SIU Edwardsville.
"I would like to thank President (Joanne) Glasser, Dr. (Michael) Cross, players both past and present and especially the fans for all their support over the last 12 years," said Buscher. "Bradley is a very special place and it has been a privilege to be a part of the Bradley Family."
"Coach Buscher has been a valued member of the Bradley Athletics staff for the last 12 years and has brought the women's basketball program its first two postseason appearances," said Bradley Director of Athletics Dr. Michael Cross. "We wish her the best of luck at SIUE.
"I will immediately begin a confidential national search to find the next women's basketball coach at Bradley University," Cross added. "Bradley University offers a distinctive education; the brand new Renaissance Coliseum is a state-of-the-art game and practice facility; a loyal and passionate fan base and competes in one of the nation's top conferences. Everything is in place for Bradley women's basketball to achieve at the highest levels."
Buscher recently completed her 12th season at Bradley and her 15th year overall as a collegiate head coach. The winningest coach in Bradley women's basketball history with a 167-188 record, Buscher directed the Braves to the Women's Basketball Invitational in 2010 and 2012.
